Moneeza Hashmi, the daughter of Faiz Ahmed Faiz, is a multifaceted professional with expertise spanning production, direction, consultancy, activism, and authorship. Holding dual master’s degrees in education from Punjab University and the University of Hawaii, USA, she has established herself as a trailblazer in her field.

Ms. Hashmi embarked on her career journey with Pakistan Television (PTV) and ascended to the esteemed position of Director Programmes, becoming the first woman to hold this distinguished role before her retirement in 2004.

Throughout her illustrious career, she has occupied pivotal positions, including President of the Commonwealth Broadcasting Association in London, General Manager of International Relations at HUM TV, and Project Director at Light Storm Entertainment. Additionally, she has lent her expertise as a consultant to esteemed organizations such as UNICEF, ADB, GTZ, and UNAIDS, focusing on diverse areas such as education, gender, and development projects.

As a Founding Member of the Faiz Foundation Trust and Faiz Ghar, Ms. Hashmi has played an instrumental role in preserving and promoting the legacy of renowned poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz. Furthermore, she serves as the Creative Content Head at the KASHF Foundation, actively contributing to empowering women through microcredit initiatives across Pakistan.

 Ms. Hashmi served as the National Mentoring Coordinator for the PATHWAYS TO SUCCESS/ADVANCED GIRLS EDUCATION project by World Learning for USAID. In this capacity, advised towards advancing education and fostering opportunities for women’s empowerment on a national scale.
