Mahtab Akbar Rashdi brings a rich educational and professional background to her role as a board director. She holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Sindh, Jamshoro, Pakistan. She also earned her Master of Arts in Political Science from the University of Sindh, Jamshoro, and furthered her studies in the same field at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, U.S.A. 

With a career spanning approximately two decades, Rashdi has served as a Professor in the International Relations Department of Sindh University and held several key positions within the Government of Sindh. Her roles have included Secretary to the Government of Sindh across various departments, notably in Inter-Provincial Coordination, Culture, Tourism, Sports, Youth Affairs, Social Welfare, Information & Archives, Women Development, Environment, and Education.

Beyond her governmental service, Rashdi has been actively involved in the governance and advisory boards of several organizations. She holds trusteeships and board memberships with RAHNUMA – Family Planning Association of Pakistan (FPAP), the National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA), HUM Network LTD, the Oral Cancer Foundation, and the Parveen Shakir Trust, among others.

Rashdi’s career is decorated with numerous accolades recognizing her contributions to education and social welfare. Noteworthy awards include the “Special Award for Services in Education for the Nation” by Sindh Madarsa-tul-Islam Karachi in 2007, the “Hazrat Khadija-tul-Kubra Award” by the Pakistan Federation of Business & Professional Women’s Association in 2006, the “Women Achievers Award” by Indus Plus in 2005, the “Doshiza Writer’s Award” in 2005, and the Pride of Performance Award by the President of Pakistan in 2004.

She has been recently nominated as a member of the National Assembly. Her extensive experience, leadership in various capacities, and dedication to public service and community development make her an invaluable asset to our board.
