Fawad Shamim

Fawad Shahmim brings over 30 years of leadership experience across program design and development, donor-funded project management, pharmaceutical sales and marketing, and social enterprise. With a distinguished career spanning both multinational and development sector organizations, including GSK, Greenstar Social Marketing, Marie Stopes Society Pakistan, and DKT Pakistan, he has made significant contributions to service delivery, systems strengthening, and sector development in Pakistan.

He has extensive experience working with provincial governments across Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Gilgit-Baltistan, and has played a key role in fostering effective public-private partnerships. As Head of Programs, he manages a range of donor-funded initiatives and has led the design, scale-up, and operationalization of maternal, child health, and sexual and reproductive health programs, alongside business development and product launch initiatives.

His expertise includes strategic planning, market assessment, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation, product sourcing, and business planning. He has also supported the development of mid-level healthcare providers in remote areas such as Chitral, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir, and contributed to a Gates Foundation-funded initiative focused on social entrepreneurship.

He holds an MSc from the University of Karachi, completed in 1986, and an MBA from the University of Karachi, completed in 1993.
