General Manager Programs – TB Project

Dr. M. Khalid Farough is a public health and program management professional with over 24 years of combined experience across Pakistan’s pharmaceutical and social development sectors. He brings extensive expertise in large-scale health program implementation, operations management, and provider network engagement.

 

He earned his medical degree from Dow Medical College, followed by a Master of Business Administration from Institute of Business Administration Karachi. He further strengthened his public health specialization with an MS in Public Health from Quaid-i-Azam University, equipping him with a multidisciplinary foundation across clinical, managerial, and population health domains.

 

Dr. Farough has eight years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector, where he managed marketing and operations functions, followed by more than 16 years in the social development sector, leading complex health interventions. His professional portfolio includes operations management, program management, interpersonal communication strategy, disaster response coordination, disease control initiatives, regional finance oversight, sales and distribution systems, training delivery, and provider network engagement.

As General Manager Programs for the TB Project supported by The Global Fund, Dr. Farough leads strategic planning and implementation of tuberculosis control interventions, coordinates across stakeholders, and strengthens service delivery systems to improve access to quality TB care.

 

Recognized for his cross-sector leadership experience and strong program execution capabilities, Dr. Farough continues to contribute to strengthening disease control programs and advancing public health outcomes across Pakistan.
