Zinc Sulphate Monohydrate

It is commonly used for diarrhoea management in children under 5 years of age. Zinc is one of essential trace minerals that is scarcely produced by the body, due to which it is recommended to obtain this mineral from diet of medicinal agent.  The medicine should be started with the onset of diarrhoea in following dosage:

• For infants age 2 to 6 months  10 mg Zinc once daily, for 10-14 days.
• For children between 6 months to 5 years,  20 mg Zinc once daily (OD) for 10-14 days.
